Dr Harry: Can you trust Dr Google when caring for your pet?

Google can be a useful tool for looking up or clarifying information. But is it safe to take Dr. Google’s advice when it comes to diagnosing potential problems with your pet?

We sat down with Dr Harry to get his thoughts on listening to online animal care advice.

“There’s that great Dr out there called Dr Google. Gee he comes up with some weird and wonderful answers”.

In fact, a google search for ‘pet advice’ returns over 700 million results!

Dr Harry says, “I think Dr Google does say some good things, providing those things that he says are accredited to registered veterinary surgeons or people who have some real genuine knowledge. The problem is there are a lot of people who put information on google that don’t have a decent accreditation or don’t have real knowledge.”

Dr Harry's advice - "Ask your own vet: Would you do that? Do you think that works? Listen to the vets' opinion."
